To start with, ‘Petta’ has everything on the board most importantly Super Star, great actor’s, commercial and mass elements etc!

First half of the film revolves around the college where super star Rajinikanth the one and only Thalaiva playing Kaali a hostel warden, first half has plenty of engaging elements but has got nothing much to do with the content of the film, interval bang is one to be remembered.

Second half is the portion where the story of Petta AKA Kaali is revealed at the end Petta wins as usual but with a twist of course, being a revenge drama Petta offers surprises often during its run time.

Performances: well known fact is that Rajinikanth will always steal the show with his style and swag he does the same here too, he flips the cigarette on screen after Baba, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi as jithu performances with ease, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has yet again given an versatile performance but struggles at time with speaking Tamil yet he wraps it up with his performance, Bobby Simha is seen only in first half, Sasikumar character is the turning point for the story and has performed well, both Simran and Trisha has same standard of characters and screen presence and have done their portion beautifully ,Sanath Reddy and Megha Akash have also performed well.

Technical aspects: As shown in the beginning of the film the movie is inspired by and dedicated to superstar and director Karthik subbaraj stands by it and he has just portrayed Rajinikanth how his fans want him without experimenting anything new with the script, cinematographer Tiru has done exceptionally well and visuals are fresh and are feast to watch on the big screen, Anirudh Ravichander's tracks and BGM gives next level elevation to the film, sun pictures have never compromised and production values are rich.

Final verdict: For Distributor Jack Manjunath Gowda it is Grate Win .out and out Rajini film, watching plenty of finest performers on one screen with Thaliavar is feast for fans. A must watch for Super Star fans.
